The Type Writer Epilogue

Christmas had come and while I had known what my presents were well in advance, unwrapping Mandi and Dani had still been a wonderful gift.

Not much had changed. Dani and Mandi were still working at Walker Memorial and I was still pounding away at the keyboard in between pounding them, all of us working very hard to get enough money together for a house big enough for all of us instead of splitting our lives between two apartments. As close as we had become, there was just no way we’d all fit into one of the apartments. Too much stuff and too much noise. As much sex as we were having, there were plenty of times where one of us needed to sleep, or in my case write, while the other two were going at it and having a second apartment where there were fewer distractions was a major benefit.

Especially given how… grateful Dani had been with my gifts. A full time choker for in public and a personalized collar for at home. The collar would have been for all time if we could manage it, but there was no way she could wear a collar at the hospital. That was just asking for trouble. I had woken up Christmas Day to a good morning blowjob from a perfectly coiffed maid followed by a full three course breakfast. I hadn’t known you could spread breakfast over three courses, but when Dani spent most of the second meal under the table deepthroating me, I made sure to savor every bite and moment.

Mandi’s gift was just as self-serving but merited no less of an enthusiastic response. I had gotten her her own sewing machine. While cosplaying had clearly been a hobby of hers before I changed things, writing the Jessica Rabbit outfit into existence had kicked that into overdrive. She was already excitedly talking about all the local cons and outfits she wanted to make for all of them, making sure to ask if there were any I specifically wanted.

She didn’t know much about body paint, but she was determined to give me the best Poison Ivy she could manage.

I was tempted to write that into her backstory, but watching her bent over a desk working on sketches and idly scrolling through articles on body paint while smiling made me hold off. Character growth and development was an important part of any story, be it fictional or reality.

Really, the only issue is that the book I had been working on for NaNoWriMo had gone so far off the rails that I had to start over. The ‘book’ I had written, really more of a smutty romance novel, had been released on Amazon under a pen name. And while BDSM polycules didn’t have the largest following, there were enough ‘Bisexual Erotica’ and ‘Erotic Literature and Fiction’ that it fit safely under that I had earned more than enough money on to convince my editor that the month hadn’t completely been wasted. He still wanted me to write a proper romance Novel, but having a secondary market that we could tap (pun, again, intended), and a place where I could safely put all of my kinks was seen as a win. Afterall, it should mean that it wasn’t going to show up in my main series, which had been the point of the romance novel in the first place.

Which ultimately had brought me back to square one. A girl. I needed a female protagonist for my novel. All of the previous exclusions still applied, but I also couldn’t use Mandi and Dani out of fear of changing them from just the way I liked them.

So, it was time for someone new. The man was still a self-insert because I still didn’t want to put that much effort into it, but the girl would have to be someone special. Maybe a blonde? Certainly would set her apart from Dani and Mandi. Or perhaps go the other way. I had always had a thing for the gothy types, metal and piercings? Oooo, why not both? Pull the Betty and Veronica angle. Sweet and pure blonde versus the snarky, kinky, and experienced goth. Make them roommates even to really ramp up the tension.

I had barely put the words to page when there was a knock at my door. Dani knelt in the open door frame in all her maid glory.

“Sir,” she said when I gave her permission to speak. “Mistress requests you come to the living room.”

That was a new one. Typically she met me in the bedroom, but the counters in the kitchen were the perfect height for many standing positions. I nodded, pausing just long enough to give Dani a pet to congratulate her on a job well done.

Mandi, however, was not in something sexy like I had expected, she was in casual clothes, still half-dressed in her winter wear while she looked out the window.

“Hey,” she said, “Check this out.”

I moved up behind her and wrapped my arms around her, carefully looking over her shoulder while giving her a loving squeeze.

Down below two women, very poorly dressed for the Chicago winter, were just starting to unload a heavily overpacked SUV. The blond, the smaller and more wiry of the two, was struggling with one of the smaller boxes, while the black haired one, tall and willowy, hefted one of the medium sized boxes with great difficulty.

“New neighbors,” I said, stating the obvious.

Mandi nodded against me, “They’ll have to be moving in down the hall. 3F.”

I nodded. The Jeffersons had moved out last month and it was the only place in the building where someone could move in. “I should go get my jacket, give them a hand.”

Mandi looked up at me with a smile.

“You gonna seduce them too?”

I smirked and shook my head. “I’m perfectly happy with the two of you.”

She gave me one of her signature grins, “So they’re fair game for me then?”

I sighed and put a hand to my chest. “Ow,” I deadpanned.

Her smile softened and she turned to face me, giving me a small kiss. “You and Dani make me very happy,” she said, carefully looking me in the eyes, “but there are some itches you can’t scratch.”

I smiled, “So nothing long term, but maybe a friend with benefits to boss you around.”

She gave me a smirk and another kiss, “Or perhaps another toy we can share. Or perhaps something more. I’m at the point in my life where the only place I enjoy being tied down is in the bedroom and I’m not going to let the fact that we’ve got something great here stop me from finding something potentially amazing for all of us.”

I nodded, trying to figure out where exactly this had come from. It certainly wasn’t a thing I had directly written, but I could imagine it as a consequence of her explorations in college. Regardless, it wasn’t something I was keen to change, given how it had led to this wonderful life I had now, but it was certainly something to keep an eye on.

With a final kiss and a playful smack on her ass, I made my way to the door and pulled my jacket on. True to Mandi’s prediction the two women were making their way up the stairs right as I was heading out.

“Hiya!” I said just slightly louder than I might normally so they could hear me over the grunts of lifting. “Need a hand?”

“Please,” said the blonde.

I quickly made my way over and pulled the small box out of her hands and tucked it under one arm with a small amount of difficulty. The box was definitely heavier than it looked, which meant the blonde was much stronger than she looked.

“New neighbors,” I stated more than asked.

“Yep,” said the raven haired woman still standing on the stairs. “3F”

I nodded and made my way down the hallway towards their door. “Well, it’s a pleasure to meet you then. I’m Chris Fairchild, I live in 3C.

“Nikki,” said the blonde motion to herself. “It’s short for Nicole. And this is my sister Luci, which is short for Lucielle.”

“Before you ask, I spell it with an i,” Luci clarified.

“I wasn’t going to,” I said, gently setting the box on the counter.

Luci dropped her box with far less ceremony before motioning to the door. “We’ve got a truck full of boxes left. Help us out and we’ll buy you pizza?”

I snorted besides myself, earning myself a curious glance from the sisters.

“It’s a long story, “ I said with a shake of my head, “But I’ll happily help.”

Nikki nodded, clearly happy with the explanation but Luci gave me a challenging pop of her eyebrow. I gave her a shrug and a smile to which she rolled her eyes. I carefully followed her out the door, taking in her details as I walked. Combat boots, black nails, heavy mascara, and silver piercings in her ears, eyebrows, and nose. Tall and pale as paper. Tight black pants and an Evanescence tank top? Woman could be any more gothy if she tried.

And her sister was the exact opposite. Short, blonde, skirt and long sleeve shirt with practical flats and understated makeup.

I might’ve been surprised before, but I certainly wasn’t surprised this time. All we needed was…

“Hey,” Luci said as we walked down the stairs, “Do you know a good pizza place in the area? We saw a Papa Johns on the way in but…”

I shook my head, comfortable that she couldn’t see me.

“Yeah,” I said, trying to exactly how I said it last time. “There’s a Marianos around the corner. You’ll have to go pick it up, but they actually do that full wood fired oven thing.”

“Sounds good,” Nikki said. “I could go for something warm and filling after the car drive. Related, do you think we could use your place? We don’t know where our dishes are…”

“Sure,” I said as we walked back out into the cold. “Just knock on the door when you’ve got the pizza. I’ll make sure my… roommates know you’re coming.”

“Oh?” Nikki asked.

I shook my head again and grabbed the biggest box I could find. “It’s… it’s a long story. I’ll tell you over dinner if you’re interested.”

Luci gave me another look at that but didn’t say anything again, just quietly taking a box and moving back towards the apartment.

Nikki, however, was far more enthused. “Looking forward to it!” she declared, pulling another one of the small and heavy looking boxes out of the car.

And despite myself, I found myself wondering if Mandi had a point. Especially because, now that I thought of it, splitting a house five ways would be way easier to manage than splitting it in three. The only question now was how to swing it? Perhaps if one of the sisters was bi and started dating Mandi first? Or perhaps go with the original Betty / Veronica route? Or maybe…

My fingers twitched as I realized that a new fire had been lit.
