Hookup at the Mutual Hypnosis Convention
Professional and amateur hypnotists had assembled at the Mutual Hypnosis Convention and were busy making friends, i.e., they were eager to fall into simultaneous, mutual hypnotic trances with at least one partner, to explore hypnotic possibilities and share uninhibited feelings and desires.
Vicky and Frank had never met, but they were obsessed with mutual hypnosis and desperate to try it. They craved the experience of falling into a mutual hypnotic trance with a partner, releasing inhibitions and discovering their true selves. They had devoured every available book and article on the subject (which were not many). They were eager to attend the Mutual Hypnosis Convention.
Vicky and Frank each had a longstanding lover with whom they yearned to practice mutual hypnosis. Their longstanding lovers had outstanding qualities and compatibilities, but they were terrified of “losing control”, which was somewhat of a misconception about the complexities of hypnosis. In spite of Frank and Vicky’s frequent entreaties, their lovers refused to be hypnotized and abhorred the very idea of mutual hypnosis.
These refuseniks recognized the threat to their relationships by rejecting Vicky and Frank’s obsession for mutual hypnosis, which was perhaps why they had reluctantly accepted that our two protagonists would attend the Mutual Hypnosis Convention. Perhaps they hoped that Vicky and Frank, by “acting out” their mutual hypnotic obsessions, would extinguish their “unacceptable” urges.
They had seen this graffiti on certain subway walls: “If you love it, let it run free. If it returns, it’s yours. If not, it never was.”
Or perhaps our refuseniks were relieved to have implicit permission to indulge their own unorthodox desires while Vicky and Frank were away at the Mutual Hypnosis Convention.
In any event, when Frank entered the Convention’s busy hotel bar, he was struck by the many hypnotic inductions underway. He and Vicky acknowledged each other as she entered the bar from the other direction. They had had a brief but promising conversation about mutual hypnosis earlier that day at the Convention’s heterosexual mixer (one of many types of mixers at the Convention).
Vicky and Frank sensed a subtle energy flow between them, an energy charged with anticipation, apprehension and something deeper that needed to be fully explored. They ordered wine and clinked their glasses together.
“Would you like to try mutual hypnosis with me?” Vicky inquired.
“I would love to,” Frank confirmed. “Fortunately for me, this is about the only place in the world where your inquiry is quite normal.”
“Don’t worry about ‘normal’,” Vicky suggested. “Let’s just see what happens when we’re in a trance together.”
They sat down next to each other and began inducing a mutual hypnotic trance, a process that each had carefully studied and understood—at least in theory. The many hypnotic inductions surrounding them in the bar faded into a drowsy, trancey hum, leaving Frank and Vicky feeling a bit trancey themselves as they synchronized their breathing and gazed into each other’s eyes.
Frank’s soothing voice began by caressing their consciousness: “We’re going into a deep hypnotic trance together,” he suggested. “Keep looking into each other’s eyes. Let everything else fade away. Feel our world getting softer, quieter... as we focus only on each other. Feel the heaviness in our limbs, our bodies sinking into relaxation. Our minds are becoming light... free.”
Vicky mirrored Frank’s rhythm, and her soft and velvety voice wrapped around them like a cozy blanket: “As we listen to each other,” she declared, “all tension leaves our bodies... letting go of everything but this moment. The space between us... it’s shrinking. Our breaths... becoming one. We’re falling deeper and deeper into a trance with every breath we take.”
It turned out that Frank and Vicky were quite susceptible to being put into a deep hypnotic trance. The rest of the bar ceased to exist as Frank and Vicky took turns and they surrendered to their shared inductions. A pleasant warmth infused their bodies as they sank deeper and deeper, responding to each other’s induction as well as to their own.
“In our trance, we will freely share our feelings and desires,” Frank declared as he considered how they might make the best use of their pleasant mutual trance. Freed from his inhibitions, he proposed to test the power of their trance: “We are attracted to each other. Shall we make our attraction increase until we each become the most attractive and desirable person that the other has ever known or imagined?”
“Let’s try that,” replied Vicky, smiling dreamily, also freed from her inhibitions. “Let’s go even further. Let’s fall in love and lust with each other this evening.”
“We’ll fall in love and lust together,” agreed Frank, “at least until we turn into pumpkins at midnight.”
“Skip the pumpkins,” Vicky retorted suggestively. “Give me the love and lust.”
And so, as Frank and Vicky continued to gaze deeply into each other’s eyes, their hypnotic commands engendered intense love and lust. Their lips had become moist and sensuous, and they moved closer to each other.
“Shall we enjoy the privacy of my hotel room?” Vicky inquired. “In our deep trance, let’s have no memory of walking from this bar to my room. We will suddenly be there. Shall we try that?”
Frank nodded affirmatively, and suddenly they were in Vicky’s bedroom.
“Feel my touch,” Vicky whispered, stroking Frank’s cheek. “Feel how it pulls us even deeper, into a sanctuary where only we exist.” They embraced tenderly, and the feel of each other’s bodies sent them spiraling even deeper into their trance.
“Shall we strip naked?” Frank suggested. “Let’s not disrobing. Let’s just suddenly be naked together. Would you like that?”
Vicky nodded, and they were suddenly naked.
In that moment, each saw the other as the most attractive and desirable person that they had ever known—or even imagined.
Their hypnotic suggestions continued to reinforce each other, and their bodies softened even more into the moment. Every breath they shared sent them deeper. Frank’s soft voice, thick with longing, pulled Vicky closer: “Deeper now... feel the warmth spreading between us... so powerful a connection.”
Vicky murmured sensuously, “Our minds are merging, floating together, deeper and deeper together, deep in our beautiful trance.”
The pleasure of their touch was no longer just physical. It radiated from deep inside and flowed between them like an electric current. Their hands explored each other’s shoulders, arms, faces and more intimate areas. Their faces became flushed. Their genitals were making irresistible demands. They moaned together, in between French kisses sending them spiraling even deeper into their trance.
After further foreplay and a condom, Frank entered Vicky, where they were overwhelmed by a more intense pleasure than they had ever known.
“We must delay our climax for as long as we can,” Vicky declared breathlessly. “When we finally cum together, we’ll enjoy the most intense, most pleasurable orgasm of our lives.”
They slid back and forth together, in and out, with their lips fused and their tongues dancing together. Their union propelled them to the top of a climatic cliff again and again, but for awhile they were able to pull back just before being hurled over the edge.
Finally, Vicky gasped in ecstasy, “I can’t hold out any longer!”
“Come now!” Frank heard his voice command from another dimension.
Their bodies trembled as their climax overcame them, too powerful to contain. They indeed experienced the most intense and pleasurable orgasm of their lives. Their very souls seemed to merge, and with a final, shared breath, their minds floated away on waves of pleasure and their consciousness dissolved into dreamy, weightless bliss.
They drifted in their dream, seemingly forever, as time lost all meaning. Their bliss was all encoming, yet it was soft and peaceful as they floated together.
When they finally awoke, they felt that they had returned from a place beyond time. They realized that they had enjoyed one of the most profound and pleasurable experiences of their lives.
But their love and lust did not endure. When they met the next day, Frank and Vicky discovered that they had very little in common, other than sexual compatibility and interest in mutual hypnosis. They discovered that their opinions were irreconcilable on most important issues, including politics, religion, diet, marriage and kids, to name a few.
They fell out of love and lust with each other as quickly as they had fallen in. The most powerful hypnosis would not have reconciled their differences or preserved their love.
However, neither Frank nor Vicky had any regrets about their evening together. Knowing practically nothing about each other had ironically enabled Frank and Vicky to create a wonderful memory to warm themselves in old age.
Frank and Vicky each returned to their longstanding lovers, who assumed that Frank and Vicky had been “cured” by their “failed” encounter at the Mutual Hypnosis Convention. Far from being “cured”, Frank and Vicky were now even more obsessed with mutual hypnosis (without each other), but their longstanding lovers had so much to offer that, at least for the moment, these relationships endured. Contrary to Frank and Vicky’s fling that couldn’t survive beyond an evening, our protagonists’ relationships with their longstanding lovers had thrived for many years and would endure for many years to come, even though Frank and Vicky craved more experiments with mutual hypnosis. Perhaps these continuing tensions would be resolved, somehow, in the future.
